.22 ammo for squirrel
Looking to purchase some more ammo for my .22 rifle, and plan on hunting squirrel. Currently using .22 mini-mag LR CCI. Just curious about what everyone considers to be the best ammo they use for squirrel, and if so inclined, why you prefer one ammo over another.
Thanks. |
RE: .22 ammo for squirrel
I use high velocity varmint rounds. I use them because they get the job done fast, with expansion and are super fast....

RE: .22 ammo for squirrel
Standard Velocity CCI out of my 10-22.

RE: .22 ammo for squirrel
I've always used CCI Stingers.

I use federal bullets. Any of them will do a great job with head shots. What ever is the most accurate in your gun is the best to use. Heres 5 federal gold medal match bullets from various yardages in my back yard in about 10 minutes.

all i use is federal lightning .22. they do not have a jacket on them. just a lead bullet. the bullet is alot like match rounds and really shots well in most guns. for a squirrel a head or body shot works just fine. they are .99 cents a box at wal-mart. anything more that is just wasting your money. :)

CCI mini-mag or stinger.

I use regular Remington golden bullets. They've always worked great for me!
