i had seen a post not sure if it was here or some where else that had a link to a site with a video on it that showed how to peel the skin off by cutting at the tail and stepping on it and pull on the legs to pull the skin off.......................bob

hey im new to squirrel hunting and i wanna keep the tails, and collect them. How do i go about cleaning them? Do i skin the squirrel first? Do i clean the tail?

I'm also new so this might not be accurate advice, but I just cut them off at the base and put them in my shed to dry out a bit. Didn't take any pains in cleaning them..

I also keep the tails. I cut the feet off first. I make a cut in the side of the squirrel. I then slip my fingers under the cut. Then I pull the skin apart. I usually get the tail.

Ok I skin them first the i cut the tail off? Does it rot? How long do i let it dry?
