Anyone no how to trap these primative armour plated yard killers? I've tried box traps with 2x4s funneling him to a box trap without success. I guess I could stay up all night with a flash light and shotgun. I dont really wanna kill him but it has come to this.

They do have body armor, so you could try land mines.

I am not sure how to trap them since I don't know exactly how you would bait a trap. I used to have a cowdog that could take'em out in a heartbeat. My new dog isn't experienced enough yet, so I have to use a light and a gun.

KY, I like the idea of explosives, but I think a few sticks of dynamite would be more useful. Light a stick and toss it in the hole!:D

better use more then a shotgun ive heard of them deflect even a 22 rimfire at 25 yards or better. Ive been told you need either steel shot magnums with bb shot or bigger or a rifle cartridge no less then a 22 mag to pierce their plates.

There not exactly fast animals so you could do it the manly way and catch them by hand or the little less manly way and use gloves. We use to catch them when we were kids, there about blind so there easy to sneak up on but I think they are known to carry leporacy(sp?) so id wear gloves to be safe

Armadillos eat bugs. If you want to trap one, fill a sock with mealworms. Throw it in your trap and wait for it to come.
