RE: Calling in the wind
when the wind gets to the 20 mph mark it starts getting tough, but they will and do hear it if you crank it up some.a coyote has amazing hearing and to think they don't hear something is foolish on any hunters part.the experts claim that a coyote can hear a mouse at 500 yards under a foot of snow on a calm day.well if this is true(and i believe there not to far off)they hear anything your doing, walking, talking, calling regardless of how windy it is.if a coyote dosen't responed, in most cases its not becouse he didn't hear it.

RE: Calling in the wind
I personally have very little luck when the wind gets in the 20 m.p.h. range, although I might keep trying, I figure can't call any from the couch. But I feel that coyotes are less active in higher winds also, so I think that is part of the reason that they respond less in the higher winds. If you're calling 'em from CRP, high winds will make it more difficult for them to hear do to the extra noise that the tall grass makes when the wind is blowing too.
