Freaks for Gophers
 

Has anybody else had a prairie dog town made up of black gophers? I'm talking genuine black gophers. I've shot 5 of them but want to keep the rest so that they can breed and make a bunch of them.

never saw a black gopher. Probably because we don't have gophers here. But would love to see some pics of them. (the black gophers that is)

I had no idea there was such a thing as a black gopher. Did they take over an abandoned prairie dog town or did they run them off?

There was at one time a Gopher town of only black gophers, that only lasted one summer before they dissappeared, now 2 or 3 yrs later they have shown up again mixed in with the regular gophers that live near a sour gas compression station. They rarely come out at high noon, too hot for them i suppose. i'll work on getting a pic.
