im a 15 year old hunter and my mom absolutely loves coyote pelts, so she has asked me to shoot enough coyotes for her to get a coat. she reasons that she buys me ammo and guns and launches my targets for shotgun shooting that she gets a coat out of my great interest in shooting. but shes not much of a shooter herself and i bargained with her that ill get all the coyotes if she takes one. she agreed but said that shed like to shoot one with a handgun and i want to know what caliber, make, brand, or any ammo that would be good for coyote hunting?

just for something differant to carry i take my 44mag out once in a while. i have put deer down with it but so far no dogs. with the 7 inch barrel and 2 power scope it is pretty deadly out to about 70 yards. just have not had the right shot with it yet. some guys can shoot them alot farther than that. i also heard some of the single shot pistols in the .223 were very deadly. see ya

how do you like your contender .223. i have 3 .223's rifles that all shoot very good. but no pistols in that size. i have been considering one but have not made my mind up yet. just wanted to here some comments good or bad about pistols in the .223.

I've shot a couple with my .44 Blackpowder revolver... kills 'em dead, but they gotta be close. I'd say to go with a Thompson Contender myself. You can get a million (well, maybe not a million) different barrels for it and use it for any kind of game!
