when i go out i usualy jus drive around. see em run get out and try to get alittle closer and shoot em with the 223.

I have shot all my rabbits when I was bird hunting.

I run a pack of about 7 beagles. I still need to get a good jump dog, but once we get the rabbit moving, it's all she wrote.

I use any strategy i can with the little b*****ds over here, ferrets, lamp and rifle or shotgun, dogs. They're everywhere here!

None of the guys I go huntin with have dogs. So we get a group of us all together and go through an area kickin brush and walkin through it all and when one jumps, yell "RABBIT UP!" and whoever has a shot, shoots it.

same here....you just gotta get'em when your out huntin...it's that way for us anyways. There really small here anyway..swampers.

I do two ways. When i am out with my bow, i drive around till i see one run. Then i get out and hope to find it. Or i'll walk around and hope i have good luck at hitting a running target.

This is what I do most of the time, But I have one friend with a beagle. It's very fun to hunt rabbits with a well trained beagle. Either way, I use a .410.

One thing I plan on doing next season is getting in a highly rabbit populated woods, and sit in a tree near signs of rabbit activity (high poop areas;)). Then, just pick off a rabbit or two with a .22 or a crossbow.

Strategy:
1) Get up early.
2) Leave dog at home. (Man does he hate this step.)
3) Put on quiet shoes.
4) Walk the lane around the fields next to the woods and briar patches. Come in from out of the sun. Wind direction doesn't seem to make a difference. If I see a hawk, turn around and go home, I won't find any rabbits.
5) Scope the ground about 100 yards out for ears, rumps, movement, etc.
6) Shoot any rabbit dumb enough to be out in the daylight with the 22 rifle.
7) Let dog sniff the tails as a consolation prize.

Repeat in the afternoon going the other way around the fields so I am still coming out of the sun.

my dad has a tree feild below our house and me and my friend hunt threre all the time and we just walk around till we see ome and then shoot it
