Crow hunting
Looking for information on hunting this predator bird. I have a small group of us down here in Texas who are intrigued by these boys, and are trying to find viable options and avenues to pursue to get in touch with opportunities to hunt them. We would prefer a depredation situation where we can get into some numbers, and a substantial population, and where we would be applauded for thinning them out (if you know what I mean).
Any feedback and information would prove to be helpful, and appreciated by some Southern boys down here in Texas who want to stay sharp in the off season. PS: "I feel the need to blast!" |
RE: Crow hunting
Crows are pests in most areas...have liberal limits (if any at all) and are great practice in the off-seasons.
I started crow hunting a few years ago, purchased an electronic game caller, got some tapes (crow fight, crow and owl fight, crow in distress) and bought some decoys (9 crows, 1 owl) and was good to go. Take lots of ammo with you and have good shells and a good choke. Most people won't give a crap if you hunt crows on their land...tree lines on farms make for a dandy setup. And it's sure a heck alotta fun. Good luck with it! |

FroMan gave some good advice. They have pretty good sight...............turn on your caller, turn it up & sit back & watch them come in!!!
