new coyote rifle
 

i am looking for a good coyote rifle
i have 2 single shot .22's and one scoped semi-auto .22 i also have a 16 ga shotgun
i am looking for one that is under 200 dollars because i am 13
any info would be greatly appreciated

the handi runs about 200 to 250. its prob the least expensive 223 rifle. unless u find a good used one.

I think the Handi-rifle without the bull barrel is under $200. Remember, it needs a scope.....
I think Savage makes their model 93 in a combo that includes a scope. Thats a .22 mag. Keep your shots under 100 yards and in the boiler room and it will do the job for you. Ammo is a bit cheaper than a .223 which, when you are 13 is probably a factor. I just looked, and there is one on Gunbroker.com for $240...Item # 15450123.
You can also use your 16 ga with the biggest shot you can find out to maybe 40 yards.

i'm set on the handi rifle in .223 i'm going to use my dads scope on it and it should work great

bass pro has a couple of nice .17hmr for around 150-200 i think savage? or marlin?

The 270wsm is expensive to shoot 130gr bt's run me 25$ a box. Light recoil but its more than you need for yotes and with your price range its outa the questoin. Id opt for a handi rifle in 223.

I got my 270 for 280 bran new at walmart
yes the bullets are hight if you buy them at wal-mart they only carry the 130 grain silver tip ballistic tip but i saw the other day where you can buy them out of the bass-pro mag anysize its very accurate too they are very nice

We run dogs over yotes and my experience has been that unless you have dogs to go catch em you don't want to shoot the 22 mag or .17. We've found everything from the 222 on up work just fine. Then again , were shooting running animals most times except when they stop to listen for the dogs in range so were not always dead center in thier chest, though the one I shot in the chest frontwards with the 22mag at 20 yards we didn't get. Don't really know except the shot felt really good but the results were not. Upgraded from that point to 22 250. Enjoy and good hunting. Juniorpc.

I paiod 220 with tax for my a handi in 30-06 at a gun dealer. Wal-mart carries the Nef 223 here with the wood stock for 183$.

i won a 30-06 at the DU banquet and my dad already has one...would a 30-06 be a good yote rifle????

Sure the 30-06 will kill them, but its more recoil than you need. Do u want to keep the fur?

well i want to learn how to tan so i can sell the fur...or could i just sell the animal without tanning??? well ne ways yea i want to keep it maybe mount it....so do u think the 30-06 will work?

Go with the 223 rifle they are long range and quite cheap

Get rid of the .22 's and buy a heavier gun like a .220 swift or a 22-250 or any cal. like that .... a good gun well a new england .. sportser or a handi-rifle are cheap and shoot sweet !
