By all means put a telescopic sight on it. You can use the scope for hunting, target shooting, low light conditions, plinking; and it even can be used to read an English textbook on proper grammer, spelling and punctuation from afar.

i wouldnt. i shoot my 22 alot and am good at it also. but i jus got a 223 with a scope so for longer range shots i use that. but i wouldnt put one on my 22 anyway cuz if ur huntin parrie dogs or gophers if u can see it open site u prob aint gonna kill it.

I actually have two .22s. One is my grandpa (or great-grandpa perhaps) that is open sights and my dad wouldn't put a scope on it. Don't blame him for that. The other one, which is mine. I shot with open sights for the longest time. I have no idea how i managed to do this but i lost both sights (probably from removing and cleaning them) so i put a scope on there. I think either way its fun to shoot. I took off the scope one time and shot by just looking down the barrel; Didn't work too well

Yes, if it where me. Low light hunting in the early morning and evening the scope would help. Hunting with leaves on the trees the scope can help find the target easier.
