Pelts???
Has anyone heard of what the pelts are going to bring this year. I have heard that a good bobcat will bring around $150 and a good yote around $30. This is just from hear say though and not a fur buyer. If anyone has heard anything please respond and let me know. We averaged $85 a piece for our bobcats last year and $18 for our yotes, anything better than that would be a plus.

RE: Pelts???
It all depends on where you are. I sold some coon on the carcass two weeks ago and averaged $14. Bobcats out here are supposed to be $150-$250, coyotes $40, red fox $40, beaver $20, muskrats $2, mink $8-$12, those would all be top end prices on the carcass except the beaver. My buyer only buys them put up. I'm in western SD, let me know where you are and I maybe can give you a better idea.

RE: Pelts???
Here's what we are paying this year for our taxidermy skins. We buy only frozen whole on the carcass, and we pay the shipping as well. We only buy from northern states, and most of the critters are purchased from North dakota. We buy winter fur only, colors and size are not a big issue as long as they have good fur and no damage as these are for lifesize taxidermy mounts.
Bobcats $70.00 to $125.00 Red Fox $30.00 to $40.00 Raccoons $20.00 Badgers $25.00 Pine Marten $45.00 to $60.00 (60.00 from Alaska) Alaskan Lynx $80 to $125.00 (we purchase a quanity of 20 on these) Steve Huffman - Huffman Mammal Studio Here's what we do with them! :D ![]() |

Sweet Catmandoo, man you do good work, very good work. Love that pic.

RE: Pelts???
UCO, you should be getting about the same as I am, except for the coyotes. You may get a little more if they are the heavier, mountain types. Your coon are not likely as heavy as ours so those may be $5 less.
