A good coyote gun for not a lot of $$$$$

Can you get a good varmit gun for say less then 350- 400 dollars. i dont have the money to buy anything really expensive in fact i think that 400 might be pushing it but o well. Should i look for a quality used one...whats do you think. The .270 i have will do too much damage. Thanks.

.223 would probably do just fine. Plenty of range and you can get a single shot for about$225 ammo cheap too

Buckhunter, I bought a .223 for just that reason. It's a New England Arms single shot. Pretty little gun, and it shoots well with good ammo. Mine was $179 brand new. They're a little more now, but still at or below $200. You can put a Bushnell scope on for about $100 and you're good to go.

How far will your gun shoot accurately. Like say maybe with in 3 inch groups. I want a gun that can shoot atleast 200 yards at a coyote. Lots of fields where i hunt. Do they make those single shots in 22-250? Thanks for replying everyone.

Buck...the 223 is accurate to 200 yards. Shooting 55 grain V-Max bullets from Remington and sighted in at 100 yards, the bullet hits 2.5" low at 200 and 10" low at 300.

NEF used to make a 250, but I don't know if they still do. The 22-250 is one whale of a caliber. Sighted in at 100 yards, the 250 is only 8" low at 300, and still smoking.

The new Remington 710 comes with a scope for about $350 and is available down to a .243 cal. This may still be more gun than you want, but I've put down quite a few with a .243. By the way does anyone have any feedback on this model 710 from Remington. I am thinking of getting one for my nephew to use.
