I've got Terriers, they live to hunt Mice, Rats and Rodents in general. I have to call them in or bribe them with food to get them indoors at night.
The downside is they dig, they even dug out a Mole last week. They left a two foot deep hole doing it.
One brought me a Dove a few hours ago.
Anything that isn't another dog is fair game and their prey drive is really strong. One is fifteen years old and brought the wife a dead Rat as a present awhile back. Dropped it right in front of the oven. The wife wasn't delighted and refused to cook it.
I've got a giant Walnut tree and numerous Berry bushes in the back garden, keeps the Dogs occupied.

Ordinarily I set up traps when it gets cold but didn't this year and the wife found some droppings in a drawer for the first time ever. In all the years we have had a few in the cellar but not in the house so I went to the store and got some new Victors and set them up with chunky peanut butter.. I got 5 in 2 days all in the garage and cellar.and now nothing so I must have cleaned them out. The drawer invader must have come up from the cellar through plumbing holes under the kitchen counter. I'll keep the traps doing all winter now.
