Are you serious about a beaver?? I hope not. Beavers chew all around a tree, they don't make holes in trees.

My buddy watched a Pileated woodpecker do that exact thing in his back yard, but there was wood chips all over the place. The tree had carpenter ants in it and he was after diner.
