Racoons and automatic feeder lights
 

if i add automatic lights red or green colored to my feeder, and the racoons show up, will they get scared away from the automatic light?

No they won't be scared.
I used to have trailcam out in the woods with a regular flash.
They didn't scare away.
They would stand up and pose for a picture.

Deer will shy from the light a lot more than coons will. Any animal will get used to it over time, but the coons will learn to ignore it faster than most others.

coons don't scare easily if they think they can get away. lights won't do much on the 2nd or 3rd night.

​​1 ordered green lights, and i found out that it is legal to shoot racoons at night, so we will see if i can get some :)

FYI i had 4 racoons under the feeder with the lights on, they really dont care, neither does the possum that comes by every night
