257 weatherby ammo
I am looking to buy some 257 weatherby ammo for shooting some coyotes and also to have the brass for reloading. I have noticed that there is a box of "weatherby select" at midway usa for 39.99 with a 100gr norma spitzer, a 100gr soft point from norma usa for 42.99, and a hornady 90gr gmx boat tail lead free for 45.99. I was wandering if any of you had any thoughts on any of these or any other suggestions? Thanks

At those prices I would just buy the brass and load the way I wanted. And I thought 260 Remington ammo was on the pricy side.
Even the brass is over a buck a pop. I would be selling that rifle and getting some thing affordable to shoot varmints with. :D Al |

I'm a Hornady fan, so I say try the GMX.

Those seem like reasonable prices to me. Buy one of each and see what shoots best then sell the rest.

I've used the 100 grain Norma spitzer with good results. I've taken deer and hogs with with that round. The bullet never gave me an exit wound but it put a hurting on the inside. A buddy of mine used it on a fox and it destroyed him. For the price of those it's hard to beat as premium bullets will run you over 80 a box. I thought the empty brass was the the same price as the Norma spitzer when I was looking for ammo so I ordered it once it was in stock.
