Ferreting - Putting ferrets down rabbit holes

Hi guys, thought I'd share a few of my ferreting videos. Hope to have more soon as it's the season again. I'm based in Scotland and the idea is to net rabbit holes and have a ferret drive the rabbits out. On occasions the ferret will manage to kill the rabbit underground but as they are fitted with a transmitting collar it's possible to find them and dig the ferret and rabbit out. Hope you enjoy.

Video 1 - Introducing the ferrets and the methods in general

Video 2 - Evicting rabbits from a tree hollow

Video 3 - This rabbit puts up a bit of a fight. Notice how the ferret tries to come up from behind to grab the rabbit by the neck. Unfortunately the rabbit is always quick to turn around

Video 4 - In a smaller burrow the ferret has a better advantage

Hope to have more videos in coming months. Feel free to subscribe to catch them.

That used to be done in Pennsylvania in the 20s and early 30s untill it was made illegal to own or possess a ferret. The practice was started by immigrants. In the 80s it became legal to own or possess a ferret but still illegal to hunt with one. around this time it was also illegal for a non citizen to own a dog or a firearm in Pennsylvania which pretty much precluded them from legally hunting.
