I've shot many a Coyote with a .223 and a .204 but as You mentioned using a lighter ballistic tip bullet it will expand better....all mine have had a small entrance hole, but "No" exit hole with very little hide damage on either Calibers.Im using 39 grain Sierra Blitz Kings in the .204 and 55 grain Hornady V- max bullets in the .223.You hit one with a larger caliber the exit wound/hole is going to be pretty darn Big!

maybe he has a fast twist 223 that expands the v-max's more, I know for a fact the twist will affect expansion. He's spot on with the 39 gr. sierra's
