Default Who's ready for small game season??

Ohio squirrel and Dove opens Tuesday next week. Most everything else comes in later in the month or into October. Anyone else have seasons starting soon or already started? I'm excited for small game this season.

Delaware squirrel season opens up on September 15th and I'm ready, maybe a little too ready. Hoping the weather will be a little chilly like opening morning last year, but I'm not holding my breath.

Hare and Pheasant opens here October 1, Rabbits are protected this year and I haven't got a clue why?. Germans have some strange ways but you usually really can't argue with the results, five month Roe Deer season, nine month season for yearlings.

They do screw it up though, a bumper crop of Rabbits this year and when the population grows too big, disease usually wipes them out.

Dove doesn't open until Nov. 1, we just get to hunt the stragglers who didn't migrate this year.

Ducks are also a no go this year, protected. Except Mallard.

Goose has been open for a month, but ends just before the peak of the migration. Going to be a bad year for the early birds.

In NC where I live it starts for Gray and Red Squirrel (statewide): Oct. 12 – 2015 to Feb. 29 - 2016

It seems so far away, yet it will be over before you know it.
