"My 8 year Old's first morning in the squirrel woods "
You left a bunch out of the story.
Who shot the squirrels? With the shot gun in the back ground?
Yup you need a hard copy of the picture if it is your sons first squirrels.

Yea he shot them with the 410 in the picture. The first one was cutting in a hickory tree. We had to sneak 40 or so yards through some pretty tough cover, got within 20 yards of the tree it was in and it spotted one of us and started squacking, fatal mistake for him! The second one came riding in to the same tree a few minutes later, we never had to take a step!
I shot a couple last weekend and had my wife fry them so I could find out if my son would eat them. When my wife asked him what he thought, his reply was " That is good chicken" when she told him that it was squirrel his reply was " Well then, squirrel is good!"

If I had a nickle for every squirrel I killed with my .410 walking a hickory tree fence row, my dad on one side ad me on the other I would have a nice amount of money. That tree line was almost a quarter mile long and many a limit of 7 a day came from those trees. Sadly the tree line and my dad are gone.

It is sad. The place we where hunting yesterday is a poor place at best. I would not have even considered hunting there when I was a kid. Most of the places I hunted as a kid are also either gone or tied up by deer hunters that practice QDM and dont want anyone on the property even in the off season.
