Where are the woodchucks?

I don't see woodchucks on farms these days!

Before some meadow would have woodchuck holes or dens and it was great hunting.

While I see a roadkill chuck once in a while that's all!

Where are they?

There are still plenty up here. I just saw two more over at the Fairgrounds here in town yesterday that I'll be after before they get over into a critical area and undermine another building in the Historical building section. So far we've trapped 3 and I've shot 9 others with my 22 Hornet. There has been a lull for the last 6 weeks or so and now more must be coming up from the river banks that surround the grounds to make better homes for the winter.

Plenty around here as well.

they were about gone around here for 10-12 years except where there was cover (along roadbanks, around buildings) the large river bottom field where I hunted my whole life and averaged 40 a year was devoid of them, they are just now making a comeback.

Instead of getting armor plating like people seem to think the whitetail deer have acquired, the woodchuck has invested in cammo and cloaking technology :D

All the coyotes probably ate them.
