Frederick Falconer, Looking for RABBITS and ducks to hunt
1 Attachment(s)
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has had success hunting Rabbits, or just seeing rabbits in any particular local public hunting areas? If not rabbits, how about small ducks? I'm a Falconer, and I use to Fly my Red-Tail Hawk on the plethora of Rabbits over at Crumb- Land Farms a while ago, before " Senior living-Construction" occured, destroying the un-farmed and untouched lots that they had. If anyone knows of any private owners that have rabbits ,and may allow me to hunt my Bird of prey at those furballs send me an email or PM. I'd like to give them a call. I'll also be training a GosHawk this year and need to make sure he he has critters to kill before thinking he can have a go at me! If all else fails... I'll be stuck on hunting crows. Attachment 31014 Thanks! Chris. |
Why not call the MD authorities and ask them that question, as I'm sure you have to have a license to have those birds? That way you get the correct information you need so you don't violate the law whether you're on private or public property.

Just to clarify as I assume all other common hunters that post are doing it legally. I am a MD licensed falconer... I know of my local public hunting areas in frederick. Being that I've primarily hunted on private property and am hoping if anyone out there who uses public land...would know of good spots to scout out for rabits to help narrow my search.
Thanks for your concerns in hunting with a bird of prey and you are correct that it does require not only a license but a period of apprenticeship, facility inspections and testing. |
For some reason I thought this was a Maryland based hunting forum. Looks like it may just be general hunting.
