Help with snaring
Hello I've recenly set out some coyote snares! They have been on location for about one week! And Ive yet to catch anything! And I'm getting frustrated, I'm surround by CRP ground and the trails through this and under the fences are everywhere. Some of the trailes are worked down to the dirt! So I feel like these are good spots for snaring! I've set 11 snares on crawls under fences! And Ive got nothing so far and I expected at least one or 2 by now! So I went this morning and tried to blend them in better, I just don't know what I'm doing wrong! We have had very cold weather recently and maybe that has slowed there movement! Maybe I just expect to much! So any advice would be great! And appreciated very much!! Thanks!!

Once you have identified the "trail" that you want to set your snare, block the ability to travel around it with obstacles (ie: brush).
It takes time (and more snares) to become successful............................ Good luck !!! |
Thanks! I guess I just need to be more patient!

Can you post some pictures of your sets?
|
I'll try to post a few pics tomorrow when I go check them!
|
So I had none this morning, I did however go to the local feed mill and buy all the traps they had! (Only 5) I'll attatch a picture of one of my snares that are set up! Also will really low temps cause the coyotes to bed down and not move?

The colder it is the more they need to move - need calories (and movement to keep warm) !!!

True never thought of it that way! I know I said I would upload some pics, but they keep failing when I try to upload them!
