chokes used for rabbit
what choke do you guys prefer for rabbit Ive used mod. for the most part but cilinder bore for tight places

Depends on the range I'm hunting, but usually I play with 6 shot and a full choke out of a .410, or 7 1/2 shot out of a modified. In tight places, I may use 8's or 9's out of a an improved or cylinder (if I have it).

We use 6 or 8 shot with .410. We found that bigger shotguns (while easier to hit rabbits) typically put too much shot in the rabbit and were hit really hard. What size shotgun are you using? We reload our own shells, it allows you to play around with different loads and see what works best for you.

Pretty common "tradition" among old timers around here to teach kids to hunt by having them stalk and shoot rabbits. Gotta move stealthily and gotta shoot straight. Shotgunning them felt like cheating when I was a kid! |
I use a 12 gauge with 7 shot and an improved cylinder... you guys must be better shots than I am. :s4:
