Default Newbie Gun Help...

I am looking for one or two rifles.

I want something gentle enough to kill a squirrel with minimum damage to the fur.
I want, something powerful enough to kill a coon / yote.

I'll suggest 2 rifles then.

For the squirrel, a .22lr is about the best, IMO. However, if you'll be shooting up in trees and there is a chance that someone will be around, then I would suggest a pellet gun. If you're worried about pelt damage, just aim for the head.

As for the yote/coons, a 22-250 or .223 will do fine.

Are there any "brands" I should be looking for?
Preferably 100 - 200 USD

For squirrels with no pelt damage, Crossman 760 Pumpmaster .177caliber BB/pellet gun.

For coyotes on a tight budget, a .223remington chambered in a Savage 11 Trophy Hunter XP or Stevens 200 (made by Savage, same rifle design as the 11, but with a cheaper trigger).

I'd suggest a .22 Magnum,a .22 Hornet (little more power),the new .17 Hornet or a .204 Caliber!

The Savage Rifles are a good brand and even nicer would be a CZ model 527 "American" Rifle!

All good responses and there are a lot of good used guns out there for sale. I'd go that route if on a tight budget.
