Oh hell yeah. My season dont start for a bit but im jucied.

Murdy 08-03-2013 08:20 PM

Our season is open. Went out this morning. it was real quiet in the woods. Spent about 4 hours out there, didn’t see or hear one. Bird activity seemed minimal as well. A thunderstorm went through shortly before dawn. I’m guessing that had something to do with having all the critters holed up.

gambit 08-04-2013 08:43 AM

I wont go out until the weather gets a bit colder. Went out opening day one season and got fleas.... Never do that again.

Game Stalker 08-04-2013 09:36 PM

I'm introducing 2 new people to hunting this year and will spend more time on bushytails.Waiting 'til first frost, though.

Psylocide 08-05-2013 07:14 AM

Season doesn't start until 9/1 here... got some flu-flus and g5 small game heads on a few arrow shafts, going to try my luck popping them out of trees with my recurve this year.

I'm going to be ticked if I get them all stuck up in branches though, lol.

mackesr 08-05-2013 08:53 AM

Our season starts on Sept. seventh. It would be nice to get a good hard frost before deer archery season starts on Oct. fifth. so I can get me enough for some squirrel gravy! Love that stuff man...

gambit 08-05-2013 08:53 AM

Try some Judo points. They have springs that bounce when they hit branches so they dont get stuck. Never tried them, but in theory they sound good.

It's been about 14 years since I went squirrel hunting. Our season is a long one too Sat, 05/25/2013 - Sat, 02/15/2014, and there are plenty out there. I should get out the ole Model 60 and go bag a few. :P

Yeah... my buddy had some of the g5's sitting around, so he let me have a couple.

Anyway, I think if I were go out and buy any... they'll be judo points. Seems like the stick in grass better too and don't skip away so far (apparently).

WildGameChef 08-06-2013 05:55 AM

Psylocide 08-06-2013 06:00 AM

Our season starts Oct 1st. But I'll probably still be going after grouse around then until they move up to higher elevations outta where I hunt.

Once it gets a bit chilly and first frost hits is when I like to go up. Fun times

scottycoyote 08-20-2013 07:54 AM

im raring to go, ive got 4 new rifles i cant wait to try out. It starts here sept 1 but we usually wait until the first frost to get rid of some of the critters

olsaltydog 08-20-2013 08:15 AM

Cant wait. May do more squirrel hunting this season. Dont like it too much in early season as it coincides with deer season for the most part and dont like spooking the deer in my area but may go out to another random area and give it a go.

HIN 08-26-2013 03:06 AM

Really looking forward for the season to start. I've missed hunting squirrels these months, it's time to get back in the bussiness.

NorthernMi OutDoorsMan 08-26-2013 03:11 PM
