fox trapping advice
Thus far I've only trapped small pests to remove them from my property -- "pocket gophers" dig holes that could injure our horse.
BUT, I liked trapping enough to invest in a trap large enough for a fox. It's a box trap, which is required in Colorado (no more leg traps allowed). I've seen people on here discussing ways to disguise their traps from coyotes. My question is: Are foxes so wiley that I'll have to disguise the trap and use odor-preventing measures like wearing rubber gloves when baiting the trap? I haven't had to do any of this with rodents; I just leave the baited trap out in the open and voila! How do you guys recommend I approach trapping a fox? |
I would deffinetly use rubber gloves and rubber boots to be on the safe side. I would bait the trap (if legal) and spray a little fox urine near it. The fox shall throw caution to the wind if it smells another fox has been there. Good luck
