I am about to go predator hunting for the first time this weekend and plan on using my remington 870 (20 gauge) and my Marlin 336 for longer shots. I have tru glo sights and a primos jellyhead extra full choke on my shotty so I hope these help. I also got a H.S. Johnny Stewart coyote hooker call. I plan on getting a cottontail in distress call and mouse squeaker to actually grab their attention though. Good luck!

First thing you need to do is pattern the gun with different chokes using 3" BB or #4 buckshot.My 835 shoots 4 buck best with Mod choke.BB's shoot best with the Ulti Mag choke.Either will kill a coyote cleanly out to 50 yds.For calls most any open reed rabbit distress call will work.I like the Tally-ho.You can use a single or double reed turkey diaphragm.More reeds are ok if that's all you have but less is better.

Outdoors,

I cut & paste this every time I see this question - hope this helps;

Go to extactly where you see them in full camo, including a head cover and gloves.

Pattern their movements in the area and learn how to best plan your final approach.

Otherwise, all you will do is educate them - understand, because they do !!!

Set-up in good cover with a good view, especially down wind of your location.

You would be wise to bring a low slung chair or at least a cushion, so you can remain motionless for extended periods of time.

Put a stick and strink with a turkey feather on it (any decoy will help - your Mojo Critter is what I use) about 100 feet out front & upwind of your location.

Call softly until you get better (or on low for E-caller in case they are near by, so you don't blow them out)...................they'll know exactly where the call is coming from, so no need to continuing calling once you see them, (remain motionless) lip squeak them in the rest of the way.

You must see them before they see you !!!

Bring shooting sticks so you can prop your gun on them to steady your shot.

1 in 10 attempts is good for a hawk getting a mousse, so don't get discourged

BTW - 00 buckshot is my suggestion, but you still need to pattern it to find out which of your chokes "works" best.
