Its a Savage 17 hmr. with 17 gr. V-Max. Deadly on squirrels. Me and my buddies try to head shoot all of em, but sometimes it just doesn't happen.

Got this one yesterday. Average size male for around here.

40 yd. shot with a .204 Ruger and 32 gr. Nosler BT

Slammed him to the ground, he never made a step.

NE plains of CO.

and then there is antelope season but this guy came out to see what all the commotion was.

75 yds. caught him in the neck with a 130 gr. Speer BTSP launched from a 7-30 Waters TC Contender carbine.

Had to pull him back up out of the hole...shot drove him back down in.

And then theres this one back in Jan.

82 yds. called in first thing in the morning

.204 Ruger 32 gr. Sierra BK took him thru the ribs

small female

SKB,
Forgive a dumb question from a south Louisiana swamprat.....but what is that in your last picture?? :eek2:

That is a badger. I hunt mainly prairie farm land and badgers are fairly common. We see them alot when out shooting prairie dogs. They live in similar borrows and often right in the middle of a good prairie dog pasture. They will run and and grab bits of shot up pdogs and scurry back to their borrows.

Generally badgers are about 50% bigger than a skunk but similar in build. They also smell nasty like a skunk. Solid muscle and not something you'd mess with if cornered.
