I use the usual ruger 10/22 with a 10 power scope,
nothing better in my opinion for getting them but i usually hunt ground squirrls so i think they are harder to get close to then real squirrls thus a scope is the key for me
Here is a pic of my ground squirrl success along with genesis 27:3

PS. I know a lot of you have seen this pic but i still love it!

Tough question.
I've got several
a crossman .177 cal air rifle
a ruger red label 28 ga.
a browning citori 20 ga
a browning citori 12 ga
a NEF .410 single shot
a ruger mach 3 22 pistol
a marlin 60 22 cal rifle - sighted in with 22 short hps
a ruger 10/22 rifle sighted in with 22lr hps
a marlin 22 win mag
a browning lever action 22
a puma 92 in 38 special
a 1894 single shot 32 short rifle
a 32 cal kentucky rifle

but if I had to have one rifle to do all during squirrel season I would take my savage 93 chambered in 17 hmr. Long shots, mid shots, short shots, and trick shots I believe that its just the best there is.

I use a Ruger 10/22 also. Not real fancy, but it makes them fall from the trees...

Alotta ways to get em. Seems if you have a 22 there up close and if you have a 12 ga there a bit away.....Either way, I love it like a flour tortilla......
