what would be the best zero for my new .17 hmr? and how high or low would it be at 25, 50, snd 100 yds? thanks

mine is 1 inch low at 25 1.5 high at 100 prety close to dead on at 200

I would zero at 100, depends on if you use the 17gr. or 20gr. bullets; but the wind is going to take hold of it out at 200 yards. If prefer the heavier bullets for that reason.
(however, I use a Ballistic plex reticle)

I shoot the Hornady V-Max 17gr's. I have mine zeroed at 100yds. Here's my results from the range...

@25yds -.5"
@75yds +.3"
@100yds 0.0
@125yds -.75"
@150yds -2.5"
@200yds -8.0"

That's what I saw from my savage...and it loves those little V-max bullets. At 100yds a 5 shot group will be pretty much touching off sand bags. I did shoot a ground hog at 225 yds last summer with it. It did a number on it...No exit wound, just internal damage. But I never get an exit wound with these bullets.
