flea patrol
I've always just skinned my yotes, and put up with the fleas.I'm always amazed that, after skinning, washing, hanging 'em, and even freezing the pelts, that there are still living fleas. Is there an effective way of ridding the pesky little critters.I also prefer to skin my yotes while still, well, not frozen stiff. What do you all do?

Go ahead and skin your dogs, then dust them with flea powder, and toss them in a plastic bag until you get to fleashing them. I use rubber gloves during the process. Dump a little extra powder inthe bag before you seal it.

the flea powder is the only way of dealing with it.you can skin them first or carry plastic garbage bags with you in the field.when a fox or coyote is harvested, put them in the bag with an ample amount of flea powder.by the time you get home the fleas are history.nothing worse then skinning something and having fleas jumping all around.the rubber gloves is a good idea, after all flea powder is a pesticide.

I used to hunt with a guy that did the bag 'em and bomb 'em, 'cause we were putting them inside of a jeep with us, but I hadn't used that method, 'cause I have a flat bed truck, and wasn't worried about 'em (the fleas) getting on me.But I guess I had forget how effective it was, and since I've been skinning 'em in my garage, my wife was worried about the fleas finding thier way onto our pets and into the house, so I guess it's back to bombing 'em.I just thought that there might be a different method, not that bombing doesn't work. Thanks!
