coyote questions

just wondering what others think
I have several different rifles
I have 22 mag
223
30 06
I think the 22 mag is enough to kill a coyote
but my buddy thinks I ought to use the 06
he seems to think that the 22 mag and 223 is not enough gun
what are some other opinions?:party0005:

22 mag is pushing it for longer range but a .223 will take them down as far as you can see them. a number of people use a .223 for yotes i personall use a .222 imo the 06 is a bit overkill for a yote

i agree with mikefes, the 22 has enough power to kill a coyote but its only gonna be accurate out to 100-150 yards at the most. 223 is gonna give you more power and a much longer range while still being a small caliber with little recoil. i also shoot a .222 sako, which is very nice its has a little more recoil than the .22 but man it is loud. its a perfect varmint/predator gun cause it shoots really fast.

.22 mag will do it out to 125 yards, but .223 would be pretty well ideal! I've used my 06, because i love to shot it and its great practice for the deer hunt!

.06 is a bit much, unless you are hunting them over a field that provides good long range shots. other than that, 222 is what i would go with. Hoorah

I guess by now you know that some guys buy .223 to shoot yotes with, huh !
