depends on what your using it for. For just sittin around havin a good time plinkin I'd say any round is good. Remington makes a decent 22 round in a 500 round cube. CCI makes a hollow point that travels just over 1300 ft/sec and thats a good round for squirrels.

in my opinion, 22LRs are pretty simple. use cheap ammo for plinking, and hollow points are a good choice for squirrels, but the RNL will do the trick as well. and the difference between LR and magnum is that the magnum is a longer round, and has higher ballistic properties. its a better choice for larger game (coyotes) and farther distances.

i like fed 40g all lead, even their copper jacket round is preferable over most other brands due to cost/dirty powders, but all of the rimfire rifles might shoot better with any brand & if your searching for the most accurate out of that gun buy several brands/weights & keep good records as to how each performed, all my rifles shoot federal good & maybe not the most accurate but minute of squirrel head :) ,mike300wm
