Coyote's and lights

so i am going to try to hunt some yotes at night this weekend. never really tried this before. i know you use a red light but do you shine a constant light across the field? or do you call. wait a few minets. shine the light. wait a few minets and shine the light again? ect ect. :confused0024: any advice would be great!

Shine non-stop and keep scanning the entire area

You want to keep the light on at all time and just use the halo of the light.
If you turn it on and off they will see the change and spook them.
Atleast I noticed that with red foxes any way.
When you have the light on constant it don't seem to bother them.
Ever spot light them in fields while looking for deer?
The yotes and grays are not spooked by the lights at all.

tony's right. don't turn on and off. it makes them skiddish. BUT make sure you're not waving the spotlight all over the place. try to aim it in one spot and like like tony also said, use the halo of the light. waving it side to side will spook them too. having a red lens helps a LOT. even if your lens on your spotlight is originally clear, you can spray paint the inside with metallic red krylon spray paint. i think it's the kind for metals, but it's super heat resistant. make sure if you do that tho, you spray paint the inside of the lens. good luck!
