Do they almost always come in pairs???

Most of the times when I've been yote huntin, I've had one come out and shot. Just to see another one run out behind it. Do they usually come in single...or double? Should I wait until I see two, or shoot the lead one?

coyote are like mice,if you see one theres more lurking around close by.you do call in the occasional loner but more times then not, theres more around.if you shoot one, then see another one running away give out a wounded coyote(sounds just like a dog thats just had his foot stepped on)call.this can be done with your open reed howler or a diaphram.most times the one running away will stop and look back.be ready he won't stand still for long.

I think most that come to my call, are by themselves, but have called 'em in as pairs alot too, usually near breeding season, have called em' in 3 at a time, 4 at a time, as many as 7 at a time, and I don't want to even say how many of the 7 we got.I prefer them to come as singles, nice and slow, so I can work them and pick my shots, some like 'em to come fast.
