RE: Gun for coyote!?
Wickman;
Hi, Well being from Michigan also, you know as well as I do about where you can and can' t use a rifle. My own personal weapons consist of a Remington Model 700 Varmint. In a 22-250 cal. It has a bull barrel, laminated wood grain stock, I had the trigger worked on and it has a trigger pull of 2.5lbs, On this I installed a Burris 6x24x50 scope, in the Signature Series. Talk about a tack driver. The gun is so accurate it' s scarry. But will do the job you want for a coyote. I also have a Marlin .22mag. Model 25MN. On that I have a 3x9 power bushnell. I also have had the trigger worked on this also. And on fox and coyote up close will also do the job. And if I' m in some really heavy cover I use a Remington Model 870 3 1/2 mag. the # 4' s do a great job on the yotes. But again buying a good rifle is like buying a good truck. Everyone has their own ideas which is the best. So I guess it' s really up to you on what caliber you like. But to tell you the truth, the 22-250 is hard to beat. Good Luck Hunting. Coyote Caller |
RE: Gun for coyote!?
I' m with Nomercy...go with the .22-250. Hunting coyotes you never know how far you' re gonna shoot and it' s always good to be ready for anything. This caliber is so fun to shoot. You can produce groups that will blow your mind and you can shoot it all day without breaking yourself. If I was you I' d check into a Ruger or Remington. If that' s too much for your pocket book look at the savage. Savage makes good rifels, but they' re not near as good as the Ruger or Remington.;)
