Squirrel hunting in deep snow
I was thinking of doing a littel squirrel hunting this week with my 17 hmr. I'm kind of new to squirrel hunting..I have gone out twice this year and have a few in the freezer now. I've been reading all the hunting tips online and they have helped. It is supposed to warm up to about 32 and sunny later in the week so I'm thinking they might be active. Here is my question... We just got about 10 - 12inches of fresh snow, so will the squirrels be active with all the deep snow?
Thanks for any advice. |
RE: Squirrel hunting in deep snow
Since squirrels don't hibernate the answer is yes, they have to eat sometime so find out where the food is and set up.

RE: Squirrel hunting in deep snow
Thanks Kevin1.
Today while driving around I drove past a wooded area where I know there is a lot of oaks and squirrels I saw 2 big fox squirrels by just scanning the woods quickly. So I answered my own question. Tomorrow morning should be a fun time. Thanks again. |
