What calls and how do you call coons during the day?

Look thru the archives of this forum for some great information... provided by one of the best daytime coon callers I know.

It takes a mighty fine caller to call a coon out of his sleep and into the open. I've called several with my old Timothy Ball coon squaller. I've walked them right out of a tree with it before with hounds waiting on them at the bottom of the tree. I never understood why they would do that.

Get a Minaska Game Caller, thats what I use. They have lots of coon sounds. The coons come to fight and they don't mess around they come pretty quick. The first time I used my call I got 8 coons to come out of one cottonwood tree in about 30 seconds. What a ball! Then I went down the creek 75 yards to another hollow tree and got 2 more to come out. Ten coons in 20 minutes. It doesn't always happen that way but they are a lot easier to call than cats or coyotes and a whole lot of fun. Great way to start kids hunting!! Mike
