.223 For Yotes
I just bought a NEF in .223rem to help deplete the coyote population as much as I can. What factory loads do you .223rem guys use?
Being in South Carolina, I will not have shots like you guys out west. 100-200yds would be the avg. distance for me. |
RE: .223 For Yotes
The NEF you have won't have fast rate of twist rifling so 55gr soft point or hollow point bullets are going to be hard to beat in factory loads.

RE: .223 For Yotes
I would go with some hornady, remington, winchester, and some other 55 grain rounds and see which your gun likes best and patterns best with...

RE: .223 For Yotes
I hunt for fur and i use my 223 Ai all the time. But then again i role my own so mine will be shooting much faster and flatter then yours. Use remington core-lokts, Winchester Elite, Winchester SuperX or the Hornady is my favorite for factor but any of them work weel too.

RE: .223 For Yotes
Try Hornady V-Max bullets in 50 or 55 grain loadings. Black Hills is good, also.

RE: .223 For Yotes
I get surprisingly good accuracy out of (used to be) cheap Wolf hollowpoints.

RE: .223 For Yotes
i would go with a light bullet about 55 grains and make sure it will expand quickly if you wish to sell the pelt
