.270?
do you think a .270 is to big to hunt coyotes.
Iam thinking no but just want to make sure |
RE: .270?
I hunt with a Savage 270 it will leave a medium mark but I don't hunt for furs so its not really a concern for me but it definitely has the range to pick off the yotes that hang back

RE: .270?
It's way to much if you want to keep the furs,if not it will kill them as far as you can hit them.If you are looking to save the hides try a 223,204 or 22-250 or something like that.If this is the only gun you have that is suitable and you dont want to buy a new gun for coyotes then I would shoot everyone I saw with it and not worry about it,just dont expect to sell the furs with a large hole in them, sometimes they can be sewn back and sometimes there is peices missing.Have Fun.

RE: .270?
I use a .308 win but I don't care how big a hole I put in 'em

RE: .270?
No worries about ruining fur here so I take my 270 out whenever we try to acquaint ourselves with our coyote neighbours. Actually, my dad got one yesterday with his 30-06. Was standing less than 20yards from the house when he went outside to feed the cats.
