do you think a .270 is to big to hunt coyotes.
Iam thinking no but just want to make sure

I hunt with a Savage 270 it will leave a medium mark but I don't hunt for furs so its not really a concern for me but it definitely has the range to pick off the yotes that hang back

It's way to much if you want to keep the furs,if not it will kill them as far as you can hit them.If you are looking to save the hides try a 223,204 or 22-250 or something like that.If this is the only gun you have that is suitable and you dont want to buy a new gun for coyotes then I would shoot everyone I saw with it and not worry about it,just dont expect to sell the furs with a large hole in them,sometimes they can be sewn back and sometimes there is peices missing.Have Fun.

270 a good gun if your not keeping the furs i use a 30 -30 kentendar pistol its fun but i think ill prob use 243 when i go hunting after christmas here i hope i bag a few

Well i hunt for fur so id say ABSOLUTLEY! But if your not huntinf fur then go for it.

No worries about ruining fur here so I take my 270 out whenever we try to acquaint ourselves with our coyote neighbours. Actually, my dad got one yesterday with his 30-06. Was standing less than 20yards from the house when he went outside to feed the cats.
