Shotgun for Bobcat?
 

I am new to predator hunting and was wondering if anyone hunts bobcats with shotguns? If so what shot size are you using? Thanks

Never used shotgun for bobcat, always used my bows, or a .22LR

Have not used one for cats. The fur buyer isn't going to like all the pellet holes in a cat. I would use 1's or BB's if I were going to shoot a cat with a 12 gauge.

BB's, T's and 4 Buck will easily do the job

I hear around on other forums quite a few guys do it, and from what I understand it doesn't ruin the fur couldn't tell you why must be cause the small holes don't matter. #4, T, or BB's is what I hear to be right.

We use shotguns all the time for cats, and yotes. Depending on 12 or 20 we use 4's on up. I highly suggest using the Hevi-Shot turkey loads. Man do they pack a punch. Have knocked down yotes at 80 yds with them.

Well, it's been a while but,


I used to hunt them quite a bit. I always used the 12ga 2-3/4" #4 shot and a turkey choke.

Do you hunt fur? Well ido and for the best success try #4 buck or the Hevi-shot "Dead Coyote"

Not hunting for fur just want to do a little predator control. Thanks guys for all the help!
