Fur friendly calibers
What do you guys think is the best fur friendly calibers are?

223 rem, 221 fireball, 204 ruger, 222 win, 17 rem, 22 hornet, ect. i love to hunt for fur!

I agree that those are pretty much the standard of varmint guns....but which are the best for not blowing huge entry/exit wounds in the hide. I would like to shoot a few coyote and fox to tan the hides so the smaller the hole the better.

Usually huge entry holes are caused by bullet splash, normally caused by bullets that are very fragile and explode upon impact, such as V-max type bullets. Use any of those formentioned calibers with a good soft point, or match grade hollow point, and on most critters you'll have a tiny entry hole and no exit hole.

Actually,even tho it wouldn't seem like it,I've had great luck with .220 swift and 40 gr sierra hps pushed to about 4050 fps. They make a tiny entrance hole then blow up AFTER they get inside to leave no exit hole at all.
