Here it is, middle of January, and people are out in shorts riding bikes. Supposed to be this warm all week long and even the weekend. Not the best weather for coyote hunting.

Ain't that the truth #40fan. It was well into the 50's when we called that cat in, but never called a single coyote, although I don't think they were too thick where we were.

What I'd give for some of that white stuff and temps. back in the teens. for highs!

The weather killed me this weekend too. I covered a good 13/14 counties and managed to get screwed by every weather system in the state somehow. Too cold Friday night, too Windy on Saturday night, snowing too hard on Saturday and then no real good excuse for why we didn't tear them up on Sunday night.

Managed to kill one double late Sunday night, and a single on Monday morning. Covered over 800 mile in 4 days- this is every coyote I called, or even saw for that matter.

The weather is the great equilizer, when it comes to calling predators. It'll make ya or break ya for sure. BUT, there are those that will stick it out and keep on pushing, finally to over come the odds. I think Jrb is one of those kind! Of course, his team is so close to taking the lead now, that the smell of blood is right infront of his nose! Gettin' tight for the lead. Everyone needs to keep pushing. Coming into the toughest calling period of the season, when it may be time to change up on techniques and sounds a little, to fool those predators thathave heard the rabbit blues in every shape and form. The numbers will be harder to come by, and each one may be enough to put your team on top, but sittin' on the couch is not an option.
Keep after guys, and gals., it's coming down to the wire.

Great job there coyote#68!!! If you can knock out another coyote or two it will really help push our team forward in this thing!!! Congradulations on the big female.

Our coyotes are being pressured by multiple callers now and the trappers are running full-force. Numbers are low, coyotes are shy and weather is unstable. There will be "pockets" of good hunting conditions over the next few weeks but they'll be few and far between. I will continue hunting hard, thats about all you can do in these circumstances.

At the moment, scores stand as follows. Tight, but still a tough contest ahead!
Team #1 - 1350
Team#2 - 1785
Team#3 - 850
Team#4 - 1850 <---The team to beat!

PS: We're going until March 15th - correct?
