New coyote hunter
 
Hey guys now that deer hunting is over im desperate to hunt so i thought i might tryout coyote hunting i have no idea how to coyote hunt but im willing to learn i have a 12 guage 20 guage and a .22 wich 1 of these should i use with what size load and what calls do u recomend? Tell me anything else i will need to know.....thanx

well the .22 i would use in Longs and no father that 40 yards and make it a head shot. 12 gauge use #4 shot in 2 3/4 or 3 in. out to about 30-35. I don't know about a 20 gauge but the specs are probly about the same. The 12 gauge is probly more effective than the .22 or 20 gauge.

What Dereg2 meant was to use #4 buck shot, which is larger than #4 shot, or use 00buck and shoot 3"mag. if the gun will take 3".This will be effective out to 50 yrds.Also, you might check out a post from a couple days ago, author was Allen Dent who asked this same question.More details for the beginner.Good Luck!

check your regulations before going any where.for instance,here in ny #4 buck and 00 buck are not legal to use on coyote.
