I have read that these little devils do some major damage to the lands out there.awesome!!

they make alot of land ungrazable, cows are stupid too so they have a tendency to step into the mounds breaking legs and what not. they can reproduce rapidly also. so a town say 5 acres big one year can be 20-25 acres big within the year

a little over kill don't you think.
not hardly ive been out a few times and ran into folks just using what they had, their deer rifles. it really doesnt matter what you use aslong as you are up to buying the ammunition. heck ive heard of 50 cals being used.

those little devils would be a blast to hunt,I guess I'm glad we dont have them here, but man could I have some fun with about any caliber rifle that I have. You could shoot more of them in one day than a lifetime of groundhogs.

On prairie dogs - big city newspapers on the prairie are starting to occasionally run articles by "prairie dog activists" with the slant that we need more prairie dogs because their burrows makes it easier for rain water to reach the aquifer below. And they wonder why fewer people even read the paper these days - hard to tell what is fact and what is mostly made up.

There really is no "best" caliber for priarie dogs, If I were to give my definition of the "best" cailber, I'd say your most accurate rifle is the best!
