Spring Trap vs Body Trap..Bait??

So it's my first year trapping. I have Fox, Bobcat, Ground Hog and possible Yote in mind. After doing some minor research I've come down to using a 220 body trap or a #2 Coil Spring Trap.

-Can anyone explain the two and is one better then the other?
- What do you use to lure them in to the trap?
- I will check the trap maybe ever 2 or 3 days so this is just a hobby not a job.

Thwnks

Matt

The number 2 will work good for all of them. I wouldnt use the 220 for anything but groundhog, although some people do okay on fox with them. NEVER use a leghold trap though, if you can only check your traps every couple of days.

check your regulations on your check times, im pretty sure it will be 24 hrs for footholds, and ya may not be allowed to use 220 conis .... before ya figure out what ya gonna user and the amount of time ya gonna go between checks, i think ya should do that AT LEAST ...... people kill me

You got to check you trap more than every two or three days. If you want to trap do the work that is envolved. You owe it to the animals that you are taking.

most states require you check you traps daily.yours may be different, but atleast once a day would be more humane and ethical than leaving any animal in there for days and I dont beleive trapping season is open for several more months or at least not in my neck of the woods.GOOD TRAPPING AND GOOD LUCK COME FUR SEASON.
