RE: .22 Magnum VS .17 HMR
How many times is this question going to come up? Who ever said to be part of this argument you need to own, shoot, and have hunted coyotes with both in order to have a good idea of which is better is right. I own an old 22 mag marlin bolt action that I got used about 15 years ago and a henry golden boy 17hmr that was given to me by a friend afew years ago. There is no question that on the target range the 17hmr is a better. But through my experience, if your going for yotes with either of these two, go with the 22 mag. I've kill a heck of a lot of yotes in my life and the 22 mag just seems to do the job right when your talking inside 100 yards. I've shot em with both at the ranges your asking about and I like the 22 mag. IMO neither is great choice of yotes. I love the 17 rem, the .22-250, .223, and .243 win. Also the .270 win and the 30-06 if you've already go them are good choices. In the end, I think it will come down to which you like better. It's alot like asking which is better the 30-06 or the 270 win.
