Hey mossbergman, Ishoot that 3 1-2 inch dead coyote out of a rem 870 with a modified choke, but howelers right pattern your gun first ,the long shells will reach out about 65 or 70yrds. Oh yea don"t have a grabber when you go to buy some dead coyote, they DO NOT GIVE THEM AWAY! A box of 10 will run you about 25green ones.

My son shot this yote at 30 yards with a 20 gaugeusing bucket shot (20 pellets). It is a single shot with a modified choke. I certainly would recommend this set-up for serious yote hunting, but it goes to show a 3.5 isn't required

Hey A11en, Tell your boy nice job on the snaggle toothed critter. Your right at 30 yrds. you may not need the 3.5 in., but when you get out there a little more it can make a big diffrece.Did you call that one in? Or were you in the right place at the right time? The dog looks good, nice coat, must be prime.

We were just in the right spot at the right time. I had been hunting 20 years and had never seen one in the wild. Because this was our first, I had mounted (below). This experience got me into coyote hunting. I started calling a couple years ago. My first time out, I called in a huge male, missed him at 200 yards (heart was pounding out of my chest). Good times!
