Why does the .220 Swift get so little exposure?

I read through the first few pages of coyote guns and didn't see any mention of the .220 Swift being used.. I acquired one yesterday and in looking at the ballistics of the shell it seems to fit the bill quite nicely.
Any reason it gets so little attention?

It is old and most of the praise is going to the newest round.

I think perhaps one of the biggest thing with the 220 was the bad
reputation it got for burning out the barrels..But the barrels are
made with a better grade of steel now..How old is the one you
purchased? Even powders are of a different chemical compound
now days..As far as a varmit rifle goes,use it..I wish I had a kept
mine .Good luck with it..One other thing I think makes a big
difference it the bullet material used now..

I have no idea how old this thing is.. It is a Ruger M-77, put my first 4 rounds through it today and would have to say I doubt the barrel is burnt yet.. Once I read the ballistics on the load I couldn't see a reason not to shoot it. Just like a 22-250 only faster and flatter.
I will use it for a while, then I will decide if if I need to switch to something newer..

Take care of it and keep it cleaned up best you can and don't
make a hot rod out of it and you should be able to shoot it
for a lot of years..I have wished I still had mine, but thought
the 22-250 was so much better...I doubt it...But you will find people
that will argue the point....If you decide you want to sell it let me know..
But I would hold on to it if I were you...[8D]
